Setting a good foundation at an early age can make all the difference. I use reward and play-based training to build the relationship between you and your puppy. The skills we establish with this training will make your day-to-day more enjoyable for you and your puppy, and set you up for more advanced training at a developmentally appropriate age.

I tend to focus on the following for younger puppies:

• Making recall fun and relatively reliable

• Encouraging eye contact and engagement

• Minimizing problem chewing

• Teaching you how to play effectively with your puppy

• Teaching a “drop” or “leave it”

• Teaching you how to enforce boundaries in a manner that your puppy understands

• Making the crate a safe and relaxing environment for your puppy
